Did you know?—

  • Many Protestant pastors set up their members to be swept into the enticing evangelical net of Seventh-day Adventists?
  • Approximately 300,000 SDAs leave that church every year?
  • SDAs have many cultic beliefs and practices?
  • SDAs print, sell and promote The Clear Word—the most corrupt “bible” ever printed by a “Christian organization”?
  • SDAs teach that the Catholic Church is the harlot of Revelation?
  • SDAs teach that Protestant churches that worship on Sunday are the “daughters of Babylon”?
  • The documentation given to Dr. Walter Martin to prove SDAs were not a cult is now renounced by many Adventists?

Do you know?—

  • How to keep your members from being caught up into the enticing evangelistic net of Adventism?
  • How to minister to those leaving the Adventist church in your area?

 Do you want to know?...

Then keep reading

The materials described herein are designed to assist Evangelical pastors and seminary and Bible College teachers. Specifically, our materials will inform your members and students about the teachings of Seventh-day Adventists, how to witness to them and how to minister to the hundreds of thousands who are leaving the SDA church every year. These materials will be of great help to Evangelical pastors, many of whom by their teaching on the Ten Commandments and the Lord’s Day are unwittingly setting up their members to be swept into the evangelistic net of Adventism.

Understanding Seventh-day Adventism

Most Evangelicals today have a very limited and often erroneous understanding of Adventist doctrine and practice. As you read this you may be thinking, “Aren’t Adventists just Evangelicals who worship on Saturday? Didn’t Walter Martin conclude that Adventism was not a cult?”  Few know that the documentation the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) leaders gave to Dr. Martin to convince him that Seventh-day Adventism was not a cult is now rejected by many in the SDA church. Many believe if Dr. Martin were alive today, his conclusion would be different.
Regardless of your current evaluation of Adventism today, there is a pressing need—yes, even mandate—that Evangelical pastors fully understand Adventist doctrine and learn how to minister to Adventists who are transitioning out of Adventism. According to their own figures, between the years 2000 and 2005 approximately 300,000 SDA members left the SDA church each year!

SDAs find transition difficult

Many of these dear people have a very difficult time transitioning into healthly Christian churches. They have been taught that once they reject the Testimonies of Ellen White and disregard the seventh-day Sabbath they would lose their salvation. Note the following quotes from Ellen White whom Adventists still consider to be “…a continuing and authoritative source of truth…” and inspired on the same level as the Old Testament prophets like Isaiah and Jeremiah:

"It is Satan’s plan to weaken the faith of God’s people in the Testimonies [writings of Ellen White]. Next follows skepticism in regard to the vital points of our faith, the pillars of our position, then doubt as to the Holy Scriptures, and then the downward march to perdition. When the Testimonies, which were once believed, are doubted and given up, Satan knows the deceived ones will not stop at this; and he redoubles his efforts till he launches them into open rebellion, which becomes incurable and ends in destruction." Ellen G. White, Testimonies to the Church, Vol. 4, p. 211.

" If you lose confidence in the Testimonies you will drift away from Bible truth." Ellen G. White, Testimonies to the Church, Vol. 5, p. 98.

"God will never, never allow any man to pass through the pearly gates of the city of God who does not bear the signet of the faithful, His government mark. [In context the signet mark is the Sabbath]" Ellen G. White, Medical Ministry, p. 123.

"God will frown upon those who disregard his commandments and he cannot bless the church that retains Sabbath-breakers in its fellowship." Ellen G. White, Signs of the Times, 1890-06-02.

" Then I was shown a company who were howling in agony. On their garments was written in large characters, 'Thou art weighed in the balance, and found wanting.' I asked who this company were. The angel said, 'these are they who have once kept the Sabbath and have given it up.'" Ellen G. White, Early Writings, p. 37

SDAs cultic characteristics

One can see the intense, internal trauma that Adventists must face as they try to leave the cultic teachings of Ellen White. The above quotes only scratch the surface of the cultic control many Adventists are under. SDAs believe that if they worship on Sunday they may receive the mark of the beast. They have been taught that they must perfect their character to the point that they can stand in the sight of a holy God before the second coming of Christ without an intercessor. Ellen White said that those who will be “translated” (think raptured) will have given up the eating of flesh foods. She taught that those who believe the spirits of believing Christians go to be with the Lord at death are under one of the two great delusions of Satan. They teach the Pope is anti-Christ, the Catholic Church is the harlot of Revelation and Protestant churches who worship on Sunday are the “daughters of Babylon”. The SDA church prints, sells and promotes The Clear Word—the most twisted and corrupt “bible” ever printed by a “Christian” organization. The teachings of Ellen White and the church are placed in the text of this “bible” without any manuscript support whatsoever.

SDAs have a highly effective method of evangelism

Adventists have a very highly tuned, effective but deceptive method of evangelism that draws hundreds of thousands into their church. Often they will send out a little booklet on “the Coming Sunday Law” to everyone in their targeted area. This is designed to cause the readers to become interested in the book of Revelation as it raises many questions in their minds. This book distribution is then followed up with an evangelistic series usually called a “Revelation Seminar” (or other intriguing title). In the seminar they start with sound biblical teaching and then when trust has been established they move into their “distinctive doctrines” of the Sabbath as the seal of God, Sunday as the mark of the beast and the Seventh-day Adventist church as the “remnant church of Bible prophecy”—the only “true” church today. The SDA church masquerades under many different names. While some of their more evangelical programs are clearly identified, many others are not. They also effectively use the media of TV, radio, satellite broadcast, and the Internet and are making rapid inroads in third world countries.

Where we come in

LAM Publications, LLC has a ministry to former and transitioning Adventists. We have helped many thousands leave Adventism and find healthy church families. In the process we have discovered a successful “transitional path” that if followed will help these people make the difficult transition as easily as possible. We believe that all seminaries and Bible colleges ought to include in their curriculum material and training to equip those going into any form of ministry how to better witness to Seventh-day Adventists and how to minister to transitioning Seventh-day Adventists. Not only that, but these colleges and seminaries need to realize the strong “pull” of Adventist evangelism. Many pastors in their teaching on the Ten Commandments and the Lord’s Day are unknowingly setting up their members to be swept into the Adventist church. LAM Publications, LLC has a number of books that deal with Adventist issues. However there are three “musts” for those who wish to minister to transitioning SDAs. To assist you in starting this ministry, at your request, we will send you the following books and materials for less then wholesale bookstore price.

What is LAM Publications, LLC and who is behind this entity?

LAM Publications, LLC is owned and operated by Dale Ratzlaff, former fourth generation SDA who pastored in the SDA church for 13 years, taught Bible for seven years in an Adventist school, graduated from Andrews University with a M. Div. and has read nearly all of the writings of Ellen White. When nearing the end of his doctoral program at Andrews University, he left the SDA church when he could no longer support SDA’s investigative judgment doctrine which they say started in 1844. He is the author of four books: Sabbath in Christ, The Cultic Doctrine of Seventh-day Adventists, an Evangelical Resource and Appeal to Adventists, The Truth About Seventh-day Adventist “Truth” and Adventist to Christian. After leaving Adventism, Dale Ratzlaff pastored in two Christian & Missionary Alliance churches and one non-denominational Evangelical church. He has written numerous articles on Adventist issues and is a featured speaker at Former Adventist Conferences and Cult seminars and is considered an authority on Adventist teachings and practice. Dale and his wife, Carolyn, reside in Peoria Arizona and currently attend Lake Pleasant Community Church.

What professors are saying about our materials:

" I’m impressed with the clarity, precision, and thoroughness of Dale Ratzlaff’s work. [Sabbath in Christ] This book is a much-needed treatment of the Sabbath controversy, written with intelligent passion and full of insight and wisdom. Mr. Ratzlaff shows great care in his handling of the complex biblical, historical, and theological issues. This book will be a great encouragement and help to anyone struggling to understand what Scripture says about the Sabbath" —John MacArthur, Ph.D. Senior Pastor, Grace Community Church, Sun Valley, California

"Dale Ratzlaff has done us a real service in providing the best all-around treatment of the Sabbath question to date." —Jerry Gladson, Ph.D., Senior Pastor, First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Marietta, Georgia

" I have been engaged in a systematic re-study of your book, Sabbath in Christ. It is an absolutely wonderful work. It is a brilliant masterpiece." —Thomas C. Nixon, Ph. D., Retired pastor and author

"Dale Ratzlaff’s books have provided me with a wealth of information on the study of the Seventh-day Adventist church and his books are recommended reading for the course. I highly recommend all Christians to become familiar with the distinctives of Adventism. There is such a need in the Christian church today to be aware of the doctrinal issues that are at stake and the effect that they have on a person’s personal relationship with the Lord. Ratzlaff hits the mark and calls it like it is!"—Linda McCoy, Director of Student Resource Center, and women’s teacher of Discerning the Cults, Eternity Bible College, Simi Valley, California

"Seventh-day Adventist teachings are rapidly spreading around the world. For decades there has been a need for a clear and concise biblical examination of the fundamental teachings of this church. This ready reference on Adventism compares biblical Christianity with contemporary Adventism and quickly gives the reader an understanding of the major issues and answers. The Truth About Seventh-day Adventist “Truth” is a ministry tool that will equip many to meet the questions of those interested in Adventism as well as share the Gospel with the searching thousands within the Seventh-day Adventist Church."
—J. Mark Martin, Senior Pastor, Calvary Community Church, Phoenix, Arizona

"Ratzlaff’s writing clearly possesses a spirit of meekness; it is nevertheless a tour de force. Patiently pursuing his subject, he lays out the evidence supporting an irresistible conclusion [in The Cultic Doctrine of Seventh-day Adventists]—Ellen White was not a true prophet or messenger from God and the Seventh-day Adventist Church is not what it claims to be, the only true “remnant church”. If Adventist leadership will heed his plea, then perhaps their church is salvageable. If not, then it is time for evangelicals everywhere to say to the Christians within Adventism, with neither malice or exultation, but with one united and very earnest voice, ‘Babylon is fallen! Come out of her, my people!'” —Timothy Oliver, Researcher, Watchman Fellowship
